Section 1, Group Stage - Round Robin:

In the Group stages, the teams will be divided into 8 groups of 4 Teams each.

• Teams will play one game against each of the other teams in their Pool.
• Teams finishing their group in 1st and 2nd place will be placed in the Single Elimination Bracket.  
• Teams finishing their group in 3rd and 4th place will be eliminated from the Tournament.

Section 2, Best-of-one match:

A best-of-one match is played in one game and opposes two teams of six players. 

Section 3, Best-of-three match:

A best-of-three match is played in two or three games and opposes two teams of six players. 

Section 4, Best-of-five match:

A best-of-five match is played in three to five games and opposes two teams of six players.

Section 5, Overtime:

If the match ends in a draw, the map will be replayed.

Recordings and/or screenshots from each round are required.

However, in the event of a group stage, there is no “Match Replay” period. In the Group stages the following scoring system will apply:
Win: 3 Points
Draw: 1 Point
Lose: 0 Points

Group Stage Tiebreakers: In the event of a tie in the group stages, score difference will be taken to decide overall winners. If scores are tied, a final best of 1 match will take place to determine the winner between the tied competitors.

Section 6, Elimination Brackets:

Single Elimination: Teams have ONE life in this format. If a team loses a match vs an opponent in the Single Elimination bracket, they are removed from the event.

Double Elimination: Teams have TWO lives in this format. If a team loses a match vs an opponent in the Double Elimination Bracket, they are sent to the Losers Bracket to fight their way back to the Grand Final.

The undefeated team of the Winners Bracket earns an advantage in the Grand Final of either an extra map pick or a full map advantage.

Section 7, Ladder Matches:

• All Ladder Matches will be played in a "Best of 3 format".
• There are no "Match Replay" periods in Ladder Matches, draws are considered a draw and teams are awarded points accordingly.
• At least 2 matches need to be played in the Season for teams to remain eligible for knockout qualification.

Section 8, Enforced Hero settings:

Hero selection limit: 1 hero limit
All heroes are currently allowed
Role selection limit: None
Allow Hero Switching: On
Respawn as random hero: Off

Section 9, Game settings:

Game Format:

All matches will be played under the Blizzard "Competitive" Format

The following game settings will be used:

Skirmish only: Off
Health modifier: 100%
Damage modifier: 100%
Healing modifier: 100%
Ultimate charge rate modifier: 100%
Respawn time modifier: 100%
Ability cooldown modifier: 100%
Disable skins: Off
Disable health bars: Off
Disable kill cam: On
Disable kill feed: Off
Headshots only: Off
High bandwidth: Off
Return to lobby: Payload = After a mirror match ; Control (King of the Hill) = After a game
Map selection: To be done by a map draft on http://owdraft.com/create?t=OCS-ladder - either team captain creates the draft and links it to the opposing team.

Section 10, Map list:

The following maps are used for the tournament:

CONTROL:
• Ilios
• Lijiang Tower
• Nepal

ESCORT:
• Dorado
• Route 66
• Watchpoint: Gibraltar

HYBRID:
• Hollywood
• King’s Row
• Numbani

SKIRMISH:
• Hanamura
• Volskaya Industries
• Temple of Anubis

Section 11, Map Selection:

Unless otherwise specified, the map pick/veto rules are as follows:

The highest seeded team will be chosen to start the pick & ban phase.
(HIGH SEED = TEAM A, LOW SEED = TEAM B)
Contestants ban one map each followed by picking the number of maps needed.

Maps are played in the order they were picked.

For a Best of Three match the map choice must respect the following procedure:

1) Team A removes one of the 12 remaining maps
2) Team B removes one of the 11 remaining maps
3) Team A removes one of the 10 remaining maps
4) Team B removes one of the 9 remaining maps.
5) Team A removes one of the 8 remaining maps.
6) Team B removes one of the 7 remaining maps
7) Team A removes one of the 6 remaining maps
8) Team B removes one of the 5 remaining maps
9) Team A removes one of the 4 remaining maps
10) Team B picks one of the 3 remaining maps, will be played as 1st map 
11) Team A picks one of the 2 remaining maps, will be played as 2nd map 
12) The last map will be, if needed, played as 3rd map

The sides for the 1st map are chosen via seeding: HIGHER SEED = TEAM A // LOWER SEED = TEAM B. From then on, the loser of each map chooses which side to begin on, on the following map. The last map will only be played if both teams win one map during the match.

For a Best of Five match the map choice must respect the following procedure:

1) Team A removes one of the 12 remaining maps
2) Team B removes one of the 11 remaining maps
3) Team A removes one of the 10 remaining maps
4) Team B removes one of the 9 remaining maps.
5) Team A removes one of the 8 remaining maps.
6) Team B removes one of the 7 remaining maps
7) Team A removes one of the 6 remaining maps
8) Team B picks one of the 5 remaining maps, will be played as 1st map
9) Team A picks one of the 4 remaining maps, will be played as 2nd map
10) Team B picks one of the 3 remaining maps, will be played as 3rd map 
11) Team A picks one of the 2 remaining maps, will be played as 4th map 
12) The last map will be, if needed, played as a decider.

The sides for the 1st map are chosen via seeding: HIGHER SEED = TEAM A // LOWER SEED = TEAM B. From then on, the loser of each map chooses which side to begin on, on the following map. The last map will only be played if both teams win one map during the match. For overtime you do not switch sides at the end of a match.

Section 12, Substitutions:

• The tournament officials must be referred to before any substitution takes place.
• Teams are allowed 1 substitution per game. (Game = All 3 Maps)
• The substitute must not be registered with another team that has competed or is competing in the current tournament.

Section 13, Match Media:

Players are obliged to record their in-game demo and take a screenshot of the beginning and end-game scoreboards.

Section 14, Match interrupted:

If a match is involuntarily interrupted (player crash, server crash, network cuts ...) the tournament officials may decide to replay the match according to the following rules:

• Teams have a 15 minute grace period to join the server/lobby from the schedule match time. The team that does not have their full squad on the server after the 15 minute grace period has commenced will have to be forfeited.

• Each team has a maximum of 15 minutes of total "in-game pause" time to deal with technical issues.

• If a problem takes place before the first kill, the game will be replayed.

• If a problem takes place during the round and the outcome of the round can’t be determined or guessed, the round will be replayed.

Section 15, Score validation:

For a match both team captains have to report the match score to the tournament officials

Section 16, Forbidden software installation:

Players may not bring, install or use any external software or hardware that inter-acts in-game, any form of modification that would alter the game or allow a player to execute automatically more than one in-game action, or any configuration file, unless expressly authorized by a tournament official.

Section 17, Forbidden in-game actions:

The following actions are strictly prohibited during a game and will result in round loss (the amount is determined by the tournament director) which will be deducted at the end of the match, and warning:

• Any form of script is forbidden.

• using bugs which change the game principle (i.e. spawn bugs) is illegal.

• moving through walls,floors and roofs is strictly forbidden. This also includes skywalking.

• boosting with the help of team mates is allowed in general, but it is forbidden in places where the textures, walls, ceilings,floors become transparent or penetrable.

• using 16bit graphics..

• Any custom (game) files.

Section 18, Sanctions:

A team may be cautioned and receive awarning if one of his players commits any of the following offences:

• Refuses to follow tournament officials’ instructions.

• Arrives late at his convocation schedule.

• Shows dissent by word or action.

• Uses insulting language and/or gestures.

• Is guilty of unsporting behaviour.

A team may receive a sanction if one of his players commits anyof the following offences:

• receives morethan one warning

• uses any unlawful or unfair proceedings

• mislead or dupe any tournament official

 

ADMINS MAY MODIFY THE RULES AT ANY GIVEN TIME TO MAINTAIN A COMPETITIVE ENVIRONMENT
